Join for a lecture by Dr. Ellen Eisenberg about the history of Jewish people in Oregon. Dr. Eisenberg’s presentation will expand upon the history of Jewish Portlanders featured in our current exhibit.

Dr. Ellen Eisenberg holds the Dwight and Margaret Lear chair in American History at Willamette University, where she teaches courses on the history of the U.S. since the Civil War, with an emphasis on immigration, ethnicity and race, particularly in the West. This year, she has developed several new courses in which she partners with local historical institutions as they work to diversify the stories that they tell.
